The real cause of rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
We are currently living in a time of viral fever. Our world is full of pathogens that cause mysterious illnesses that so many people are baffled by, and that medicine simply labels as autoimmune diseases. Medical science and research are unaware that the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is the cause of so many diseases, including fibromyalgia , chronic fatigue syndrome , multiple sclerosis , thyroid disorders , lupus, Lyme disease , tinnitus, vertigo, rheumatoid arthritis , and psoriatic arthritis. There are over 60 varieties of EBV, which can be a shock to anyone who is only superficially familiar with this virus, as well as to those working in the medical field. Anthony William discusses this virus in detail in his book , Thyroid Healing .
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, which is in its late stages (read more about the stages of EBV in the two parts of our article “Epstein-Barr Virus” ), except that this strain of EBV either doesn’t like to eat as much copper or simply doesn’t have an excessive amount of toxic copper in the body. The particular strain of EBV that causes RA much prefers the heavy metal mercury as its food. This specific strain of EBV gets into the connective tissue, joints, and tendons in its fourth stage, causing inflammation that is evidence that your body is trying to keep the invader at bay. Swelling in your knuckles, cervical spine, and the like is a sign that your body is responding to the virus, which burrows deeper and causes permanent damage to nerves and tissues. In its milder forms, this can manifest as mysterious aches and pains. In advanced forms, people get severe joint swelling and a diagnosis of RA. This information is still unknown to medical science and research.
The first step
The most important step you can take today toward real healing goes far beyond diet or avoiding harmful influences. First, you must realize the true cause of your illness. Your body is not attacking itself. The biggest mistake is to believe that your immune system is not supporting you. When you believe that your illness is autoimmune, you are hindering true healing because you are not giving your body the support it needs as it continues to fight the pathogen in your body. Knowing that your body is not fighting itself, but a pathogen, strengthens your immune system, makes it more focused, and makes it work even harder for you. Additionally, when you know that you have a virus to fight, you can learn practical steps you can take to provide your body with the best possible support.
How to treat
Unknown to medical research and science, antibodies have been created to fight the Epstein-Barr virus ; however, your body still needs all the support it can get. Below are some steps to take that can help you begin to recover from rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis.
Removal of toxic heavy metals
Toxic heavy metals are one of EBV’s favorite foods. And almost all of us unknowingly have toxic heavy metals in our bodies. These metals enable the virus to continue to grow and become more and more prolific. And the more it feeds on metals like mercury and copper, the more toxic waste the virus releases into the body, leading to the symptoms of psoriatic and rheumatoid arthritis. To get rid of toxic heavy metals, there are five important heavy metal detox foods that you should include in your diet daily: barley grass juice powder , coriander, spirulina , wild blueberries , and Atlantic dulse . To learn more about these heavy metal detox foods, as well as the best way to combine them, check out the recipe for “Heavy Metal Detox Smoothies.”
Foods to avoid
When you are being treated for RA, it is important to avoid eating things that are some of EBV’s favorite foods, such as eggs and dairy. It is also best to avoid pork because it puts a strain on the liver to the point where it allows the viruses to multiply, grow, and inflame the joints and skin. It is also important to stay away from gluten because, unknown to all medical circles, it also provides fuel for the virus. If you have eliminated eggs, dairy, and gluten and are still experiencing symptoms after a few months, consider eliminating all grains from your diet, including oats and rice, while you are being treated. Some people tolerate grains well, but for some, grains need to be eliminated to allow for deeper healing. It is also helpful to avoid corn, soy, and canola oil. To learn more about why it is best to eliminate these foods from your diet if you have a symptom or condition, you can read the full explanations in Anthony William's book "Healing the Thyroid."
Healing Food: Fruits
While many have been told to avoid fruit because of its sugar content, this trend is actually another example of misinformation that only prevents people from taking advantage of the powerful antiviral properties of bananas, dates, apples, cantaloupe, mangoes, and all other types of fruit. Fruit is the most antioxidant-rich food in the world. Antioxidant should really be synonymous with longevity, as fruit is the best food for extending life and fighting disease. Wild blueberries, blackberries, and cherries are among the foods with the most antioxidants. You can focus on those fruits that appeal to you the most. If you have the luxury of having a farmers market nearby, make it a weekly habit to shop there and explore the many varieties of fruit that are available to you: apples, pears, peaches, watermelons, apricots, dates, and more. Different types of citrus fruits are also a great addition to your diet. Although some people may think that oranges, lemon water, or grapefruit trigger an RA flare-up, this is just a feeling because citrus fruits detoxify toxins and viral byproducts in your body. In addition to fruits, be sure to eat plenty of leafy greens, vegetables, and include celery juice daily.
For more information on other foods to include for these conditions, read the books "The Healing Medium - Revised and Expanded Edition" , "The Most Beneficial Foods" and "Healing the Thyroid" . Useful nutritional supplements
To aid your healing process, consider including the following nutritional supplements:
Zinc sulfate is one of the most important resources for fighting EBV. The body uses up its stores and even deep reserves of zinc at a rapid rate, meaning it is very common to become zinc deficient when you have EBV, if you weren’t already anyway. This supplement gives the immune system a serious boost so that the EBV cells are destroyed and suppressed. Anthony William recommends and uses Vimergy® Organic Zinc Sulfate .
L-lysine inhibits and reduces EBV viral load and has an anti-inflammatory effect on the entire body. Anthony William's favorite supplement company, Vimergy®, offers L-lysine in capsule form .
Cat's claw is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antiviral that can be very helpful for rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. Anthony William recommends Vimergy® organic cat's claw, alcohol-free extract .
Taking a methylfolate supplement , which helps with methylation issues, along with a proper B-12 supplement that contains adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin, is very important for rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis sufferers. Anthony William recommends Vimergy® 5-MTHF capsules and Vimergy® organic liquid vitamin B12 .
Glutathione helps detoxify the liver, where the viruses and toxins that cause these conditions reside. Vimergy® offers glutathione in capsule form .
Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) repairs and strengthens areas of the body that have been damaged by the virus.
The strong antiviral abilities of mulberry leaves make them an important nutritional supplement to consider.
The treatment information and nutritional and supplement guidelines we shared in the form of blog posts about psoriasis and eczema would also be helpful to include.
Complementary therapies
Many people with RA go to an infrared sauna to help with fatigue and stiffness. This may be a good option for you, just be careful not to set the heat too high. Be careful how long you stay in the sauna. Another extremely helpful treatment is gentle massage therapy, one of the oldest methods in the world. The healing touch of one person on another can be amazing for RA.

How to move forward
Rheumatoid arthritis is not an autoimmune disease, and this myth needs to be corrected immediately so that the millions of people who suffer from it can get real answers. When you are given false information about your disease, it is as if someone is putting a stop sign on your healing process. We hope you can shake off this misconception about rheumatoid arthritis and start on the path to healing with renewed hope. Realizing that your body is fighting a virus that feeds on toxins and metals in your body is the first and most powerful thing you can do. You must let go of the idea that your body is working against you. It is impossible for the body to attack itself.
When considering your options for healing, it can seem overwhelming. Remember to take it slow and at your own pace. Everyone’s journey will look a little different. Maybe the foods you need to avoid will take some time to eliminate, but supplements will come easier. Maybe eating fruit will be an easy step, but incorporating celery juice is too much for you to do at first. Do what you can today and keep building on it from there. Never forget that your body is working with you, not against you, and healing is possible.
