Anthony William on Migraines: Triggers (Part 1)

Антъни Уилям за мигрената: отключващи фактори (част 1)

Continuation of the article “Anthony William on Migraines”.

In the previous article, we examined how Anthony William describes migraines as a complex neurological condition that can have many different manifestations. The next logical question is what actually triggers migraine attacks.

Medical studies still do not have a complete explanation for the causes of most migraines. Various theories exist – that the problem is related to certain nerves, to the gut microbiome, to leaky gut syndrome, or to hormonal changes in women. However, according to him, in most cases, migraines are not triggered by a single cause, but by a combination of several different factors.

For example, lack of sleep or chronic stress alone are not always enough to cause a migraine. But when toxic heavy metals, chronic viral infections, and other stressful factors for the body are added to them, they can collectively lead to a migraine attack.

Therefore, Anthony William advises against stopping the search after finding only one possible trigger. According to him, migraines are most often the result of the accumulation of several different circumstances acting simultaneously.

Known Medical Causes

Before looking for lesser-known triggers, it is important to rule out well-known medical causes of migraine symptoms. These include concussion, past meningitis, stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), brain aneurysm, brain tumors or cysts, as well as pinched cervical nerves.

If these conditions have already been ruled out and migraines continue to occur, then it is necessary to consider other possible triggers.

Viruses as a Trigger

One of them is the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). The virus can maintain inflammation in the central nervous system for a long time, and when it affects the vagus nerve or the neurotoxins it releases reach it, this can trigger migraine attacks.

A similar mechanism can be observed with the herpes zoster virus, as well as the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), which can maintain inflammation of certain nerves and thus contribute to the onset of migraines.

Other Possible Triggers

Anthony William also describes other possible causes that he believes may lie behind migraines.

One of them is a condition he calls micro-transient ischemic attack – a disorder similar to a transient ischemic attack, but occurring on a much smaller scale. According to him, it can go unnoticed and yet affect the nervous system.

Another possible trigger is chronic streptococcal sinus infections. Surgical treatment can sometimes provide temporary relief, but a more lasting approach is to help the body cope with the infection by strengthening the immune system.

We must also pay attention to the state of the digestive system. When it does not function optimally, ammonia gas can form in the intestines, which can reach the nervous system and become another trigger for migraines.

Electrolyte Deficiency

One of the most frequently overlooked triggers is electrolyte deficiency.

Electrolytes are necessary for the normal functioning of the nervous system and brain. When the body does not have enough of them, this can strain the central nervous system and increase the likelihood of migraine attacks, especially in people with toxic heavy metals or chronic viral infections.

According to him, the most common cause of this deficiency is chronic dehydration, which can be associated with insufficient fluid intake, excessive consumption of caffeinated beverages, and lack of sufficient fresh juices.

To restore electrolyte balance, Anthony William recommends regular intake of celery juice, coconut water, fresh cucumber or apple juices, as well as lemon water, which support hydration of the body.

Conclusion

According to information from the Medical Medium, migraines are rarely the result of a single trigger. In most cases, they arise when several different stresses on the body accumulate simultaneously and exceed the nervous system's ability to cope with them.

In the next article, we will look at more migraine triggers that may be at the root of this condition. Look out for the article “Anthony William on Migraines: Triggers (Part 2)” soon.
