These fresh wraps allow the natural flavors of fruits and leafy greens to shine through. They are quick and easy to prepare, yet rich in valuable nutrients and provide the brain with everything it needs for optimal functioning. A few drops of freshly squeezed orange juice add a fresh taste and aid in maximum nutrient absorption.
Leafy greens, such as lettuce, contain mineral salts that nourish brain neurotransmitters.
Fruits provide easily digestible glucose – a vital source of energy, necessary for both the daily functioning of the body and for recovery processes.
Ingredients:
6 large lettuce leaves (green, red, butter lettuce, or romaine lettuce);
3 cups of optional additions – for example, cucumber slices, cucumber spaghetti, baby spinach, sprouts, and/or microgreens;
3 cups of optional sweet fruits – for example, banana slices, diced mango, and/or orange segments;
2 cups of optional berries – for example, raspberries, blackberries, and/or strawberries;
a few drops of freshly squeezed orange juice (optional).
Instructions:
Arrange the lettuce leaves on a large plate or platter. Distribute the chosen vegetables over each leaf – cucumber slices or spaghetti, baby spinach, sprouts, or microgreens.
Add the chosen fruits, such as banana, mango, or orange, then distribute the berries.
If desired, sprinkle with a few drops of freshly squeezed orange juice. Roll up the leaves and serve immediately.
Serving for 1 person
Notes:
Although lettuce is the most suitable choice for this recipe, you can also use kale leaves.
If using fresh strawberries, remove the green stems before preparation.
