Continuation of the article “Guide to choosing a cleanse (part 1)” .
Cleansing 3:6:9: which option to choose?
You’ve decided it’s time to try the 3:6:9 cleanse. How do you know which option is right for you? This brings you back to the main question: “What feels doable to you right now?”
Are you drawn to the idea of more specific guidance? Do you want to see faster results? Then you might like the simplified nature of The Original 3:6:9 Cleanse .
Maybe you have a very busy schedule and want more flexibility and the ability to eat more cooked food, and you don't want quick healing reactions. This is a good time to choose the Simple 3:6:9 Cleanse .
Do you feel your health is critical, or have you been eating clean for a long time, or do you prefer a completely raw diet and want to take it to the next level? The 3:6:9 Intensive Cleanse is right for you.
The original 3:6:9 cleanse gives you a little more freedom in the first 3 days to gradually transition into the strict eating plans, while the simplified version stops radical fat directly while offering more variation in the long term. This may be a factor in your choice.
If you start with the Original 3:6:9 cleanse and find it difficult to follow, or feel uncomfortable, you can safely stop and move on to the Simplified 3:6:9. You can try the original version again at some point. This is the essence of the guiding question – things are always changing, so you never know what the answer will be in the future.
Likewise, if you undertake the 3:6:9 Intensive Cleanse and decide halfway through that you would do better with the Original or Simplified at the moment, that’s fine. On the other hand, your motivation to persist with the Intensive Cleanse is likely strong because, if you have chosen it, you want deeper healing of more complex health issues. When a person is looking for a way out of an acute chronic illness that has plagued them for months or years, the relief they experience from the Intensive Cleanse keeps them determined to complete it and even repeat it several times.
Food intolerance
If you have an intolerance to certain foods, you may be wondering which cleanses would be more suitable for you.
First, the Healer Medium cleanses avoid problematic foods. Depending on which cleanse you try, you will limit or eliminate the foods that are most disruptive to your health—a break that will allow you to get rid of many food intolerances. In addition, the cleanse helps to relieve your liver of the burdens that cause sensitivities to many foods, ultimately leading to even greater relief.
Second – for the 3:6:9 cleanse , which requires the intake of the most specific foods, there is an entire chapter on adaptation and substitution to deal with your food intolerance – see chapter 21 in the book “Cleansing for Health” .
Third, you may still be afraid to eat fruit. When someone says they have a fruit intolerance, it probably means they have other food intolerances as well. Fruit is the food that takes the brunt of the criticism, as it is often unfairly criticized by experts for its fructose content. You can learn more about this in the article "The Truth About Fruit" .
Food intolerance is related to a diseased liver. If you never pay attention to this liver and do not work to heal, cleanse or rejuvenate it, you will never be able to deal with your food intolerances, including what may seem to you to be an intolerance to fruits. Discomfort when eating fruits is usually a warning of another problem. Fruits have such a strong cleansing effect that they stir up poisons and toxins and remove putrefying fats and proteins from the body, which in turn causes a healing reaction of swelling or rash. The 3:6:9 cleanse and other cleanses of the Healer Medium do not cause these problems, which are actually due to the cleansing effect of the fruits.
The problems are already there and have been around for longer than you realize. The same goes for the onset of disease symptoms when we don't cleanse. The disease has been developing unnoticed for a long time - at least months, and usually years before the symptoms appear.
When fruits activate the cleansing process, poisons and toxins leave the liver and body, and you may experience symptoms. You would probably have experienced them at some point without fruits. For example, when the organs that have been holding these poisons and toxins inside reach their maximum capacity and begin to overflow, or if you have exercised a little more intensely than usual and this has displaced the poisons and toxins, causing symptoms a few days later. Fruits have the power to do this faster, without having to overdo it with exercise or wait for the toxic load to overflow. The cleansing nature of fruits forces toxins out of their storage areas and out of the body.
The symptoms we think are fruit intolerances are actually signs of something else. For example, bloating or rashes will continue to occur regardless of our diet if we don't take care of our liver. Sometimes this happens inconsistently, at different times, with different foods - because, as I said, the problem is not in the food, but in the liver. If the reactions disappear with little or no fruit intake, this does not mean that the problem is solved. But it remains - our liver is sick and working hard. Our condition continues to worsen without us suspecting it, and by avoiding fruit, we will not help ourselves.
The solution to this situation is to heal the liver, and that means detoxification. The choice of the 3:6:9 protocol will depend on what your problems are. In Chapter 21 of the book “Cleanse for Health” you will find an option for gradually entering the cleanse if you do not feel ready to do the full course. And if you are not yet ready to consume fruit, there is still a solution - the mono-nutrition cleanse includes options without fruit. Or maybe you are no longer afraid of fruit and are ready to try the 3:6:9 Cleanse. If during the regimen you have swelling or rashes, this means that you have reached that deep internal problem and healing it will eliminate the symptoms.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
When you are breastfeeding, it is okay to do the Original , Simplified , or Intensive 3:6:9 Cleanse , or any other cleanse from the book “Cleanse for Health.” All of these help to make breast milk cleaner by drawing out impurities from the breast tissue.
The Original and Simplified 3:6:9 cleanses are recommended during pregnancy because they are extremely nutrient-rich. They are healing not only for your body, but also for the fetus. Instead of the Day 9 protocol, repeat the Day 8 nutritional plan.
If you decide to try the 3:6:9 Intensive Cleanse during pregnancy, discuss it with your doctor. The likely reason you are interested in this option is because you are experiencing symptoms during pregnancy that you have already seen one or more doctors about. Consult with them about whether to use the 3:6:9 Intensive Cleanse.
If you suffer from symptoms or conditions that make you want to try another cleanse from the book "Cleanse for Health During Pregnancy" , contact your doctor.
Children
Children can also benefit from the Original, Simplified or Intensive 3:6:9 Cleanse with one major change: the food amounts should be adjusted to the child’s usual portion sizes and appetite. This means that you should reduce the portions to suit your child’s appetite. If you think Day 9 of the 3:6:9 Cleanse will be difficult for your child due to the high fluid intake, Day 8 can be repeated.
The other cleanses in the book are also completely suitable for children. All of Healer Medium's cleanses are safe for children.
Liver examination
Sometimes people wonder if they should cleanse at all and wish there was a test that would tell them that. You don’t want to wait for a test to tell you that you have liver problems before you decide to take care of them. There are still no tests that can detect liver problems early enough before fatty liver disease or decreased function has developed.
Are there any signs of these early, undetectable stages of liver disease? Yes – symptoms. Specifically, many of the symptoms we dismiss as a normal part of life are actually indicators of incipient liver problems. These include chronic constipation, bloating , dark circles under the eyes , brain fog , low energy levels , unexplained weight gain , varicose veins , inflammation , insomnia , skin problems , food sensitivities , premature aging, hot flashes, gallstones , heart palpitations, mood issues, seasonal affective disorder , unexplained hunger, reproductive problems , migraines, eczema , acne , dizziness , tingling, numbness, and many more, which Anthony William discusses in detail in his book , Liver Help . If you consult a doctor because of any of these symptoms, it is possible that he will tell you that your liver is in excellent condition because medical professionals are not yet trained to recognize the early symptoms of liver disease.
So it’s not worth waiting until you hear you have liver problems to start a cleanse. We all have a diseased liver, which can affect almost every aspect of our health. Even someone who appears to be in good shape may have the undetected early stages of fatty liver disease, which is causing hidden health problems. The early stages of liver disease are the perfect time to start a 3:6:9 Cleanse .
If you have advanced liver disease and your blood tests, imaging, or biopsy show a diagnosis of fatty liver, it doesn’t mean it’s too late to cleanse—quite the opposite. It just means you likely have a longer road ahead of you. However, the relief you’ll feel and the results you’ll see during the 3:6:9 Cleanse may be so rapid that you’ll be determined not to give up until you’re healed.
Heavy metal testing
A toxic heavy metal test is a good way to find out if you need to detox. Keep in mind, however, that the test will only detect toxic metals in your blood that are known to the test’s creators and in high enough amounts to be detected. Even if the test doesn’t show toxic heavy metals, you may have them in high amounts. Heavy metals aren’t always found in your bloodstream. They often accumulate in organs like the brain and liver and go unnoticed, but even in small amounts, they can cause trouble by damaging tissues, interfering with nerve signals, and releasing corrosive substances.
As with liver problems, symptoms are what can tell us if we are suffering from high levels of toxic heavy metals. Examples of such symptoms include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, confusion, tics, spasms, brain fog , attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease , autism, eczema, psoriasis , rosacea, vitiligo, and Crohn's disease . However, don't wait until they are severe to resort to the cleanse in the article "The Healer Medium's Toxic Heavy Metal Cleanse" or to include the heavy metal detox modification in the 3:6:9 cleanse. As we already discussed in the article “Pests That Make Us Sick – Toxic Heavy Metals” – through air, water, ready-made food, cosmetics, gasoline, and rain, it is possible for us to come into contact with toxic heavy metals, which we must remove from our bodies if we want to spare ourselves and our loved ones the suffering they cause us due to their long-term impact on our health.
Sometimes people worry about the side effects of detoxing from toxic heavy metals, and this is an important concern – especially when trying one of those techniques that only claim to help you remove toxic heavy metals. There is a risk that the metals will be removed from some organs and build up elsewhere in the body, causing reactions and side effects. In particular, chlorella and chelation cannot be trusted to be good for detoxing from toxic heavy metals. In contrast, the heavy metal detox technique we discuss here removes metals in a proper and safe way. Also watch the video "Anthony William Busts the Detox Myths" .
Celery juice - a powerful medicine
Fresh celery juice is part of every cleanse in the book “Cleanse for Health” . It is part of every list of herbs and supplements that Anthony William recommends, as well as every book he has written. He even dedicated a special book to this healing tonic because celery juice is so powerful. ( “Celery Juice” – not yet translated into Bulgarian. Most of the information from the book in Bulgarian can be found in the articles on our blog on the topic “celery juice” . )
With so many trends in the health world and so many approaches that sound convincing, it’s easy to give up on even trying celery juice . This is true of all the information in the “Healing Medium” series. Some people say they’ve tried this method and talk others out of it, but they’ve never really taken it seriously. It’s like coming to a bridge and someone tells you, “I’ve been across it before. There’s nothing on the other side.” If you believe them, you’ll never know that there’s a garden of Eden on the other side. That person hasn’t gone far enough to find it.
Try not to deprive yourself of this unique opportunity to heal just because someone told you not to cross that bridge. Perhaps they were not sick enough to follow the instructions exactly, or they got carried away by other methods. It is easy to be dissuaded before you have even started, and thus deviate from the path to healing.
The severity of symptoms is important in determining how seriously we take the treatment protocol. One person may find it difficult to get out of bed and shower every day. Another may have complaints but still be able to travel and hike in the mountains. Still, even the mildest symptoms can get in the way. Mild eczema or anxiety cannot be ignored. At the same time, some people in this situation still manage to live well and may not follow the instructions exactly. They will likely lose interest quickly and give up on an otherwise successful protocol. They are likely not to be as motivated and committed as someone who is suffering every minute. It is easy to assume that the person who claims that celery juice did not help them was in the same situation as the person who says that the juice saved their life. It's easy to assume that both of them followed the instructions properly and waited more than 2-3 days to feel the effect. But in fact, that wasn't the case.
Why is celery juice included in all the cleanses? Not because it's a cute little addition, but because it enhances everything else. Celery juice enhances all the cleanses in The Healer Medium's books . It helps you get the most out of the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie , as well as all the other cleanse recipes. That's how powerful and important celery juice is.
Whatever you do for your health, whether you're on a cleanse or not, celery juice is included in it and makes it stronger so you can get its full benefits. It enhances the effect of any healing remedy.
If you are eating foods or taking products that are not good for you, celery juice will not magically make them good for you. It will help you against those problematic products that feed viruses and unproductive bacteria and contribute to chronic disease – the foods that you are not ready to give up yet. Celery juice is your ally.
Save yourself the misinformation
As much as health professionals may know about other aspects of health, they still don't have enough information about the causes of chronic disease. In order to make progress, we need to acknowledge this.
On top of that, we can be misled by all those enthusiasts who are amazingly good at quickly spreading rumors and misinformation on social media, thinking they have discovered something very interesting. These people mainly get information from the internet and knowingly or not spread false claims, taking advantage of the growing number of confused chronically ill people.
Keep all of this in mind when a new trend or theory makes you question the cleanse information in Anthony William’s books. In our article on “Intermittent Fasting,” we looked at it in detail as a trend that interferes with proper cleansing and healing, and we analyzed why it is not a long-term solution to health problems. However, there are other popular methods that you can get stuck on, so we will look at the trends of high calorie intake (bulking), calorie restriction, and macronutrient counting.
Macronutrient counting – the new calorie counting
Calorie counting has fallen out of favor as it has become increasingly apparent that it is distorting our understanding of food. In its place, “macros” (or macronutrient) counting has become popular. Now, young people (and older adults) are tracking how many grams of fat, carbs, and protein are in everything they eat and trying to control their intake, while ignoring the most important health-promoting parts of the food we eat: the phytochemicals, antioxidants, antiviral and antibacterial substances, trace elements, and minerals. Because macronutrient counting is more complex and can be customized to suit personal preferences, we’re left with the impression that it’s a good thing. This is yet another trend that’s about to mislead those struggling with chronic illness. Many believe it’s just another long-term solution. For your own protection and that of your family, you should know that it’s not a long-term solution. There’s no logic to counting macronutrients.
Increased and decreased calorie intake
People often have trouble gaining muscle mass without gaining fat when following a high-protein diet. The confusion stems from the widespread belief that the secret to gaining muscle mass and staying healthy is to eat a diet that is mostly protein and low in carbohydrates. However, fitness enthusiasts are beginning to realize that protein alone is not enough to build and maintain the much-desired lean muscle mass. This leads to alternating between excessive calorie intake and reduced calorie intake. First, more calories are consumed than can be expended to gain mass from training, and then, when muscle is supposedly gained, which in many cases is simply water and toxic fat accumulated in and around the muscles, calories are reduced in order to preserve muscle mass but melt fat. This method is a big mistake and leads to a vicious cycle. The goal should be exactly the opposite – to not have to constantly increase and sharply decrease calories in order to gain muscle mass. This strategy places an enormous strain on the body, especially the liver, which loses its ability to process and store nutrients, leading to nutrient deficiencies and accelerating the aging process. This additional stress on the body can eventually manifest itself as cardiovascular disease, cholesterol imbalance , prediabetes, type 2 diabetes , obesity, muscle strain, cartilage and joint wear, kidney problems, decreased immunity, etc. This approach also leads to complications in autoimmune diseases.
The truth is that carbohydrates are what contribute to the accumulation of muscle mass during intense training. Meanwhile, fats, which are added to an already high-fat and high-protein diet, overload the liver and lead to the accumulation of body fat.
There are basically two camps that support the calorie-restriction method. Some intentionally gorge themselves on unhealthy foods like donuts, pasta, cookies, muffins, croissants, burgers, pizza, ice cream, and greasy French fries—not realizing that the fat that sticks to your body isn’t from the carbs, but from the radical fats in these foods. Others overindulge in foods they think are healthy—toast with avocado, gluten-free spaghetti with a fatty sauce, nuts, seeds, nut butters, eggs, chicken, salmon, beans, brown rice, hummus with tahini, oatmeal with peanut butter, and protein shakes with almond butter, almond milk, oat milk, and a little fruit. Some of them believe that the accumulation of fat in the body is due to legumes, fruits, rice and spaghetti, while in fact, as we have already mentioned, radical fats such as tahini, avocado, oil and the fat in eggs are to blame.
The way to build muscle safely and more effectively is to provide adequate levels of glucose to the muscle cells along with enough micronutrients to help insulin easily attach to the glucose and get it into the muscle tissue so that the muscles can be maintained without atrophy when you are not training and grow when you are able to train. Increasing lean muscle mass without gaining fat negates the need to reduce calories.
If you have read Anthony William's books or follow his advice articles on our blog , you know that a high-protein diet (which means high-fat) is taxing on the body. However, the good thing is that at least people are abstaining from processed foods and including vegetables in their diet. When you eat a lot of protein and a lot of carbohydrates at the same time, you are not very careful and are more likely to consume the aforementioned processed foods, which are not beneficial to anyone.
Those who advocate the theory of alternating increased and decreased calorie intake do not realize that if they instead keep their diet low in protein and fat while increasing carbohydrates, they can build proper muscle without gaining fat, which they then have to lose.
That's why none of the cleanses in Anthony William's books are based on protein and fat. They consist of the real sources of health and strength - fresh celery juice , leafy greens, other vegetables, and what Anthony William calls the much-needed clean carbohydrates - fruits, squash, regular and sweet potatoes, which our bodies need.
Many people fear that cleansing will lead to muscle loss. This fear can be reinforced when they flip through the pages of cleanses and see that they do not restrict calories or count macronutrients. They worry that they will not look the way they want to and may say to themselves, “This guy doesn’t understand anything!” This is the shadow of the old protein monster that has been in our minds since the 1930s, and it will prevent people from getting the help they need from Anthony William’s books . Don’t be one of them. Don’t write off the Healer Medium protocols as useless just because they do not involve increased or decreased calorie intake or macronutrient counting. Now you know the truth! These cleanses will fill you with strength and energy while restoring your health.
